Remaining Brownbags

During the academic year the CARL organizes monthly classes for CGSC faculty, staff, SAMS students, and members of the community who are interested in learning library services and library databases. Don't forget to bring your lunch!

All Brown Bag Classes (unless otherwise noted) are held on Wednesdays from 1230 - 1330 in the Combined Arms Research Library, 1st Floor, Room 112, Eisenhower Hall. Call 758-3053 for further information.

Remaining topics for the spring semester include Copyright and Social Networking. Is there a topic you would like us to cover in a Brownbag session? Feel free to let us know!

Copyright -Every year at least one student does not obtain copyright permission to use something in their thesis, or an instructor doesn’t realize they need permission for some article or book excerpt. At the last moment, that figure must be removed, or that course material can't be used. Learn how to avoid these pitfalls. 14 APR 1230-1330
Digital Library / ResourcesLearn how to search the CARL’s digital library and the treasures it contains. Also learn about Military History Institute’s digital collection, the Open Archives Initiative and others. Get primary sources from your recliner at home! 28 APR 1230-1330
SOCIAL NETWORKING - Do you know how to tweet, flick or add to the wall? Learn how to use Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and how to have a wiki. 12 MAY 1230-1330
NetLibrary/OverDrive Audio-booksGet ready for road trips by learning how to download audio books from the library. 26 MAY 1230-1330
